SURFACE TREATMENTS For adequate wetting
Microfluidic applications require that liquids flow through stable surfaces that are well characterized.
Emulseo provides easy-to-use hydrophobic surface treatments for microfluidic channel coating.

Fluo-ST1
The surface treatment Fluo-ST1 from Emulseo is composed of fluoroalkylsilanes that are chemically reactive to plasma etched glass and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) surfaces.
After treatment, a uniform fluorophilic layer is covalently attached to surfaces of the microfluidic devices and especially allows a better performance and stability of aqueous droplets formed in fluorinated oils.
Fluo-ST1 is adapted for use with Emulseo’s surfactants and oils.
Fluo-ST2
The surface treatment Fluo-ST2 from Emulseo is a clear, low viscosity, low surface tension solution of a fluorosilane polymer carried in a hydrofluoroether solvent.
The coating covalently bonds to a variety of surfaces (glass, PDMS, etc…) and dries in a thin film with excellent hydrophobic properties. It allows a better performance and stability of aqueous droplets formed in fluorinated oils.
Fluo-ST2 is adapted for use with Emulseo’s surfactants and oils.
